El primer domingo del Campeonato Mundial de Superbikes FIM 2020 (WorldSBK) en Phillip Island (AUS) no fue seg\u00fan lo planeado para el equipo BMW Motorrad WorldSBK. Tom Sykes (GBR) termin\u00f3 la carrera Superpole de la ma\u00f1ana en sexta posici\u00f3n con su BMW S 1000 RR. En la carrera dos de la tarde, tuvo que conformarse con el d\u00e9cimo despu\u00e9s de un problema t\u00e9cnico. Despu\u00e9s del comienzo, Sykes estaba en la mezcla en el grupo l\u00edder, pero sus esfuerzos y el potencial del RR permanecieron sin recompensa, ya que en la vuelta cinco, un problema t\u00e9cnico lo hizo caer al puesto 12.
